All Year Round – Workshops, Book Readings & Community Initiatives
All year round the Don’t Snooze On Clues™ (D.S.OC) team members are committed to conducting fun and interactive safety workshops for children, youth and parents nationwide. Our award-nominated children’s book is also a big hit with kids, and author Keba Cairo brings her book Don’t Snooze On Clues (2014) to life with her animated readings. D.S.O.C accomplishes various community initiatives that are designed to better the lives of children, youth and families through empowerment, collaboration and support.
February - Respect For All Week
During this week we promote respect for diversity and engage students in meaningful lessons and/or other activities that focus on preventing bias-based harassment, intimidation and/or bullying.
June – Student Safety Month
We emphasize and encourage the safety of children in schools by providing interactive safety workshops and fun materials.
July & August – Discovery Camp (coming soon)
During the summer months children will discover, not just the world that they live in, but the world outside of their community. Activities include: educational trips, cooking lessons, self-defense classes, broadway shows, sporting events and leadership building activities.
September – Back to School Jam
We enjoy giving back to our community and our back-to-school supplies giveaway help students to start their school year right. We partner with other organizations to offer low-income communities the opportunity to stack up on their much needed school supplies.
October – Anti-Bullying Month
In recognition of October’s anti-bullying month, the “Bullying Is Not A Norm” campaign will incorporate activities, educational workshops, awareness building, and a citywide essay contest.
December – Toy Drive
Every holiday season we collect toys for those children who have to spend the holidays in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of a hospital.
